Highlights

The Honor 8 was one of Huawei’s best ever devices due to two reasons; firstly, the smartphone packed some immaculate specifications and second, its exterior was as good as any VS model. Keeping up with an old trend of coming up with Lite-er versions of its most selling smartphones, the Honor 8 Lite hits the market shelves on 17th February 2017 with a launch price close to 32,000 rupees.

The shining warrior!

The Honor 8 Lite inherits the dual-glass panel design of its larger counterpart in equally stunning fashion. The world had gone nuts for its looks and if you were priced out by the Honor 8, here’s your chance to get your hands on this beauty. A customary metal frame separates the two glass panels and their combination is nothing but flagship grade. Dimensions wise, the smartphone measure 7.6mm in width while weighing in at 147g which makes it a win-win device! Due to its sumptuous build, all of the smartphone’s 4 color schemes look stupendously beautiful so if you’re more concerned about looks, the Honor 8 Lite won’t let you down.

A display that guarantees 1080p resolution!

Not just that but the smartphone also packs a 5.2 inches LTPS capacitive touchscreen with 401-423ppi pixel density. The previously promised 1080p HD resolution is a guarantee leading to the Honor 8 Lite not being as Lite as you would’ve previously thought.

Two very capable camera sensors

That statement simply sums up what’s coming next; the Honor 8 Lite may not have the dual-primary camera setup from the Honor 8 but its snapping prowess is not to be taken lightly. This is largely due to the presence of a large 12 megapixel primary and an adequately poised 8 megapixel selfie sensor that’re sure to take your breath away. Though there’s no OIS or phase detection to talk about, the primary sensor still commands respect and shelters all basic camera features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and an LED flash.

Not so “Lite” after all!

That’s quite true. The only feature that this supposedly “Lite” smartphone misses is a dual-primary camera setup. Other than that, its Octa-Core Cortex processor with 3GB of RAM and all aforementioned specifications heavily beg to differ. Due to its immense processing power, the smartphone simply won’t lag and if you’re a power user, the built-in Android Nougat won’t give you any reasons to scratch your head.

Other than that, the smartphone has most of the characteristics of a modern 2017 release with features that include a large non-removable 3000 mAh battery, USB type-C, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner but unfortunately no fast charging. Its internal storage stands at 16 gigs with the option to use an external memory card slot also available at all times!

Honor 8 Lite pros:
  • One of the most beautiful smartphones in the market today with excellent dimensions
  • Lag-free performance atop the Nougat 7.0
  • Excellent camera performance, both front and back particularly the selfie sensor being a large 8 megapixel one
  • Premium build quality
  • Merits its price
Honor 8 Lite cons:
  • None, seriously. This is the best phone for its price.
