The HTC Explorer is the Taiwanese company’s latest low-end Android phone to tackle Samsung’s Galaxy Y and it is certainly a good answer as it brings all the things you’d expect from a HTC phone along with a very affordable price tag. The design of the phone alone is good enough to attract your attention as despite being comfortably small and very light, it still manages to avoid feeling cheap because of HTC’s excellent build-quality. Moving to the specs, the HTC has a 3.2 Inch capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 480 x 800 that is easily the best in class for a phone of this price range.

There is a 3.15 MP camera in the back which can give some decent results with bright-colored images.

HTC Explorer runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread along with a specially optimized version of Sense 3.5. This tweaked version of the company’s Sense UI makes it considerably smoother and easy-to-use on the Explorer.

To power this phone, HTC has put in a 600 MHz Cortex-A5 processor along with a decent bit of RAM, 512 MB to be exact while the battery used by the Explorer is a 1230 mAh battery. It can provide you with a standby time of 485 hours and a talk time of 7 hours 40 mins on 2G/7 hours 33 mins on 3G. This phone comes with 90 MB of internal memory but the additional microSD slot allows you to boost that to an extra 32 GB.

HTC Explorer’s connectivity features include 3G, EDGE, GPRS, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
