Huawei’s phones notably come in 3 different series among others. The Mate series mostly consists of its finest big display smartphones that belong to the upper end of the price bracket e.g Mate8. The Honor series, though a separate brand only owned by Huawei, contains a mix of the company’s high and lows such as the Honor 5X and last but not the least walks in the Ascend series. The Ascend series is charged with most of Huawei’s budget and mid ranged price phones and this review focusses solely on one of Ascend’s very own, G630.

The Ascend G630 is and is not a dream come true for a particular user. If you’re hoping for a good performing device in a low price, then it is nothing short of a teenage dream for you but if you’re pretty obsessive about some of the features it falls short in, you’d not be that pleased. What exactly are we talking about? Its coming right up.

We really don’t know about you but we’re not fans of mobile devices with designs like the Ascend G630. It’s too common and there’s no guile about it. The three things other than its design that disappointed us are its 294 ppi pixel density, just 1GB of RAM and 1 megapixel secondary camera. Android and 1GB of RAM never go well together and we probably think that the Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 wouldn’t be enough to provide a smooth enough user experience.

The ppi density could’ve and should’ve been a little better to ensure a crisp display and the 1 megapixel front camera wouldn’t be too pleased with it either. The 8 megapixel primary camera will probably be another story. The internal memory is just 4GB which might not be the best of news for your apps but the option to expand it further would be good news for your images, videos etc.

Drawing to a conclusion of this review, our personal take on the Ascend G630 would be that it’s fine when you consider the price you’re going to get this in but we’d honestly suggest you to keep your hopes grounded about the phone’s long term performance as it’s not enough to convince us.
