The 4G supported Ascend G7 is another quality oriented device in the mid-range market. Coming out as a successor to the Huawei Ascend G6, the G7 is a major upgrade in the lineup. Even though there was only a difference of roughly half a year between the release dates of both the devices, the G7 feels like the next generation model in the series, rather than a simple upgrade.

Talking about the design aspect of the device, the G7 comes with quite a thin metallic body which gives the phone a rather premium feel in the low-key price range. It has a 5.5 inch screen (compared to G6's 4.5 inch one) which packs a resolution of 720p HD display at a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch.

In terms of processing power, the device runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset along with a Quad-core 1.2 GHz CPU. The RAM has been added an extra gigabyte as well, making it 2 instead of just 1 GB (as found in the previous Ascend G6) while the internal memory of the phone is uplifted to 16 GB from 4 which is yet another major upgrade in the device.

Looking at the camera, the G7 has a 13 MP camera at the back, with autofocus and LED flash and an aperture of f/2.0 (a flagship standard), and records full HD video at thirty frames per second. The front facing camera is kept the same as the one found in the G6 (a 5 MP one) but is still a market standard and good enough for selfies and video calling, etc.

The battery has been upgraded as well and is now a 3000 mAh one which can take the load of the rest of the phone's hardware and last up to a day's use for an average user.

As far as the OS is concerned, the G7 comes with 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box but is planned to be upgraded to v6.0 Marshmallow in near future. So looking at the device as a whole, the Ascend G series has been given a much-needed upgrade, making the Ascend G7 a strong competition in the low-key range (especially for its price).
