If you’re looking for a smartphone on which you do not feel like spending any money but still getting the job done, Huawei’s Ascend Y530 is the one to look up to. The company has made a name for itself with releases like the Y530 and they’ve helped to push it in the right direction. Although, not the best in the world at what it does like Chris Jericho calls himself, it may just have some of the tools to at least give Jericho a fight.
The Ascend series consists of a lot of phones that mirror the Y530. It is really good in the price you pay it for and it mostly does better than some smartphones within its price range such as the Samsung Galaxy Star etc.
The Ascend Y530 comes in the customary design that we’re accustomed to see in many QMobile devices as well as a lot of Huawei’s own smartphones with the three capacitive buttons at the bottom of your screen. Most companies, most noticeably Sony, have now ditched the capacitive buttons in favor of buttons that are covered by the touch screen and Huawei should please start doing that.
The display comes in at 4.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touch screen with a disappointing 218 ppi pixel density. It’s way lower than it should be! The processor is a Dual-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 Qualcomm MSM8210 Snapdragon 200 which is used in a lot of phones at this price range backed up by a discouraging 512MB of RAM. That somewhat tells the story about its lower than expected processing power.
The primary camera comes in at 5 megapixels and fortunately Huawei did not ditch the selfie camera in the Ascend Y530. Yes it has a VGA front facing camera and we’d strongly suggest you to be happy about it rather than moan about it being VGA.
To sum up, the Ascend Y530 is an interesting proposition for budget tight users. Unfortunately its processing leaves a lot to be desired which is enough to kill our hormones as 512MB RAM for us is an uncompromisable sin.
Huawei Ascend Y530's lowest price in Pakistan is Rs.12,899.
