Like a child waiting for their birthday, it’s time for the Huawei Honor series to up their model number by one. Introducing the Honor 7X; a beautiful phone with modern designs in an affordable price. Setting you back roughly Rupees. 30,000, this phone is giving the other budget phones a run for their money.
The Honor 7X is 7.6mm thin and covered in a metal unibody casing; meaning the hefty 3240mAh battery is non-removable. That means you can get a full day of battery life for the heavier users, whereas the lighter ones can see their phone lighting up for 2 days. The phone is giving a premium feel in a marketplace where build quality is mostly compromised on.
Amongst a sea of plastic phones in the lower mid-range bracket, a fully metal phone is very appealing. The overall look of the phone is very reminiscent of the iPhone 6. However, instead of a fingerprint scanner on the back, the phone has one on the rear which is far more convenient for the users.
For 2017, it seemed as if only the flagship phones were worthy of sporting an 18:9 sleek display. However, Huawei’s off-shoot Honor is the first mid-range phone to be blessed with the beautiful screen. The 18:9 aspect ratio is creeping its way into the mid-range market because it minimizes bezels to the point you can call the phone “bezel-less”. A bezel-less phone in the mid-range market will appeal to a great number of users.
The new aspect ratio also allows the Honor 7X to be just a tad bit larger than the Honor 6X whilst providing a significant increase in screen real estate.
The screen resolution is rather odd: 2160*1080 on a 5.93-inch screen. All this mumbo jumbo means that the screen density will be at a very satisfying 407ppi. Movies and games will look sharp as ever on its IPS LCD display as well.
Following the footsteps of its predecessor and one of the pioneering phones in the dual camera niche; the Honor 6X, the Honor 7X is also equipped with two 12 MP cameras. This is great as the Huawei Honor 7X is furthering the dual camera trend to become mainstream in mid-range phones.
Now you don’t have to cash out 60,000 PKR for those awesome blurred portrait pictures. The front is home to an 8MP camera, for all the selfie aficionados out there.
As is the norm with newer mid-range phones, the Honor 7X is packing 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory with the additional option of adding an external memory card. The processor on deck is the Kirin 659 octa core chipset. Each core is running on a speed of 1.7GHz, to ensure that buttery smooth performance. Launching with Android 7.1 Nougat, the phone is very likely to see an upgrade to Android Oreo for an even better improvement. It’s not stock, however. The phone will have Huawei’s custom EMUI 5.1 user interface to make life easier for you.
