Huawei success can be accurately defined by analysing their strategy. Huawei mission is arguably bringing down all the top line android phones available in the market and it is needless to state that they are actually able to do that. Giving fierce competition to the likes of OnePlus, Vivo and Xiaomi in the race of taking the throne of creating the best Flagship Killer smartphone in the market, Huawei Honor 8x is plausibly one of Huawei finest creation with some minor mishaps.
The Incredible Design:
The Honor series have not been a disappointment but what has happened continuously are similar designs of smartphones which they release. The cycle, however, ends here with the introduction of the Honor 8x. Its sleek body design is made of Aluminium frame which grants it the ability to look shiny and stylish outdoors. Though, the back body of the phone is totally plastic which is most certainly a downer. A hands-on user will still feel a good amount of grace holding this beautiful device in their hands. The dimensions for the phone are 6.31 x 3.02 x 0.31 inches and weighs about 175 grams. The Body of the phone definitely gets an upvote.
Beautiful Display? Yes but…
The Honor 8x is a mammoth of a phone, with the screen size being 6.5 inches. The screen resolution being 1080 x 2340 pixels and an IPS LCD touchscreen with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. Good numbers yes and no one is going to argue that the display is absolutely fantastic but (and a very big one at that) there is not much difference compared to Huawei other devices such as Huawei Psmart+ or the Huawei Y9 2019. The phone will not appeal to previous users of the same brand as there is no touch to innovation or creativity. It is consistency all right, but is it welcomed?
The Cameras:
Honor 8x camera is a step in the right direction. It features a dual rear camera with the primary camera being 20 MP with an impressive autofocus function and the secondary being 2 MP adding detail to the already taken pictures with its all new sensor depth. The front camera is also 16 MP with a fixed focus lense, mastering in the arts and crafts of the perfect selfie. The Cameras are an obvious plus.
Hardware and Software:
Well this is an absolute downer due to a similar fact that we discussed in Display section. Although it uses a Kirin 710: Octa-Core CPU and comes with 4 or 6 GB of RAM, there is little if anything to distinguish with previous models of Huawei. A storage option of 128 GB seems worthy especially at this price rate with a dedicated micro SD card slot for upto 256 GB. The battery is 3750 mAh, it is fast charging all right but not Huawei Supercharge. All in All, if you are already using some of the latest Huawei devices, there is not much to look for over here.
- Good body design
- One of the best Flagship killers of 2018
- The Cameras
Cons:
- No Innovation
- No changes from previous devices
- Battery could have been better
