The Honor V9 continues Huawei’s bromance with dual-camera lenses and it’s touted to produce excellent results. Hitting the shelves on February 21^st 2017, the smartphone commands a price-tag close to 50,000 rupees with features that fully merit its huge price-tag.

Design wise, seemingly a cross between different smartphones

We say this because the first time we saw the smartphone, we could see shades of an iPhone 6S and Nexus 6P in the Honor V9. The smartphone’s back panel in particular, houses many similarities to the aforementioned smartphones both in terms of its build materials and design while the front panel is typically Huawei.

With a 7mm width, the smartphone is adequately slim and its 184g is well distributed all over the device due to its large size.

A display that topples the best in the market

That has been made possible due to the smartphone’s 5.7 inches IPS-NEO LCD capacitive touchscreen with 515ppi pixel density. Translating into a 1440p HD resolution, the smartphone’s display size and quality produce a combination that’s sure to please all those who’re quality-savvy and on the other hand, would love a large display in their hands.

Dual-camera lens setup yet again from Huawei

Huawei has undoubtedly been the master of dual-primary camera lenses because of their pedigree in stuffing these bad boys in many of their smartphones. No other company can boast to have as many dual-primary camera lens smartphones other than Huawei and the V9 is another addition to it.

The V9’s dual-camera setup features 12 megapixel dual primary lenses that’re said to be the future of mobile cameras. They’re said to produce better quality results with improvements in exposure, image details etc. Other than that, you also get phase-detection autofocus, dual-tone LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama with the primary setup.

Speaking of the selfie sensor, the V9 features an 8 megapixel sensor that’s fully equipped to produce excellent selfies that’ll go well on the large front display.

Uncompromising performance, whichever variant it may be

The Honor V9 is marketed in two variants that are separated by their RAM and internal storage; the cheaper version features 64 gigs of internal storage with 4GB RAM while the powerlifter features 128GB internal storage with 4GB of RAM. Both the variants feature a similar hybrid Octa-Core processor that’ll spank the built-in Android Nougat to perform to the best of its abilities.

A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB type-C and a large 3900 mAh does justice to the V9’s price and brings this review to a close.
