Huawei isn’t just about budget or mid-ranged smartphones; it has proven its prowess to be fully capable of producing some excellent flagship material smartphones. The Mate9 is its latest upcoming increment to the phablet Mate series and this comes to no surprise that the latest smartphone is packed with some wholesome specifications from the accomplished Chinese manufacturer.
Build quality and display
Though not officially released yet, the Mate9 is expected to carry similar build features as its predecessor, the Mate8, did. The smartphone features a metallic unibody with a pinch of plastic. Metal unibodies have indeed become the darling of smartphone manufacturers because of their superb feel and premium looks. Mate9 duly makes use of these traits. Keep an eye out on its dimensions and weight which we expect to come in around similar measurements to the Mate8.
The display is a large 5.9 inches IPS-NEO LCD capacitive touchscreen with 367ppi pixel density. This results in a 1080p HD resolution which goes on very well with the smartphone’s gigantic display. Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection is a must mention while its thin bezels make the display look even bigger than it really is.
Cameras
The Mate9 is due to come in not just with large sensors but also hunky camera features. The primary camera features a 20 megapixel sensor with phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization. These two culminating with the large 20 megapixel sensor are bound to produce stunning photography and video recording.
The selfie camera can be misinterpreted as being a primary one because of its 8 megapixel shutter so keep calm and keep taking selfies!
Hardware and software
Huawei has never been greedy with hardware and such is the case with the Mate9. The smartphone features a Quad-Core 2.6 GHz processor. It is marketed in two variants that are distinguishable on the basis of their internal storage and RAM; the cheaper variant contains 64 gigs of internal storage with 4GB of RAM while the more expensive variant features 128GB internal storage and 6GB of RAM. That’s ample power to run the built in Android Marshmallow while USB type-C, a responsive fingerprint sensor and Fast Charge technology are its other notable mentions. The smartphone is expected to hit the shelves come 8th November 2016 so hold your houses for now!
