Well well well, what do we have here? After the recent announcement of the Huawei Mate 9, we’re expecting to see a near similar smartphone codenamed Mate 9 Pro sooner rather than later. Huawei seems like going all-out in its quest to further climb up the smartphone ladder and the Mate9 Pro might just be its ticket to the very top.
Build quality and display
The Mate 9 Pro seems like a 100% Huawei made copy of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge when looking from the front. At first, it was fairly difficult for us to decipher whether the smartphone was the S7 Edge but upon a closer look, especially at its back panel, we couldn’t ignore the fact that the smartphone wasn’t what we previously thought.
While the S7 is primarily glass, the Mate 9 Pro is all metal something Huawei has been doing a lot with its devices. A 7.5mm width will surely increase its potential future buyers while the 169g weight is fully attributed to its entirely metallic frame.
Its display is a curved 5.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a 534ppi pixel density. This allows a staggering 1440p HD resolution which, when working in tandem with a display as larger as this, is as good as any display can get.
Cameras
In an age where dual camera lenses are slowly making the market their own, the Mate 9 Pro is another one of those proud smartphones with this feature. The device features a 20 megapixel plus 12 megapixel dual primary sensor stuffed with features such as OIS, phase detection laser autofocus, LEICA optics and 2x zoom.
Its selfie sensor deserves its fair share of plaudits due to housing a powerful 8 megapixel sensor meaning that you won’t have to worry about a single thing as far as the Mate 9 Pro’s cameras are concerned.
Hardware and software
The Mate 9 Pro is powered by an Octa-Core processor but it’s marketed in two variants; a 64GB internal storage plus 4GB RAM one while the other is a 128 gigs plus 6GB RAM one. If you’ll be going for the latter, you’ll probably be one of the first people to own a smartphone with 6 gigs of RAM. Anyhow, both are finely suited to run the built-in Android Nougat while Fast Charge, 4000 mAh battery and a fingerprint round-off this amazing smartphone.
