Lite versions of smartphones have turned into a growing trend nowadays. When it comes to Huawei, there’s a known surety of a Lite version following on to the flagship version and the Huawei P10 Lite is no different. A smaller version of Huawei’s grand P10, the P10 Lite will attract significant attention towards itself because of its expected launch price somewhere around 30,000 rupees and launch date in mid-March 2017.
It is related to the P9 Lite, and P8 Lite (2017). Confused by the naming scheme? We are too.
One of the negative things about Huawei is its typical design. One can hardly tell the difference between a flagship and a mid-ranged device. The same can be said of the Huawei P10 Lite as its exterior mimics that of the Mate 9 from the front causing it to easily get mistaken as the latter smartphone. However, the smartphone features a dual-glass panel design with a rather nice 142g weight. Unfortunately, no dust or waterproofing in the device which is something that we rather kind of expected.
The smartphone features a 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 424ppi pixel density. Translating into a 1080p HD resolution, these specifications are getting more and more common nowadays with no room for 720p resolutions. The result is a crisp graphical experience that pays special attention to detail.
Quite unsurprisingly, the smartphone features a 12 megapixel camera with an LED flash. While it’s devoid of some hunky camera features such as phase detection autofocus or OIS, it still packs quite a punch while also containing customary camera features that include geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama and HDR.
The selfie camera brings further good news as the P10 Lite it features an 8 megapixel sensor much to our and your delight. We expected a slightly toned down 5 megapixel one but hey, we all know how well Huawei is attributed to the value-for-money slogan.
The P10 Lite’s strongest point is its processing power; we’re talking an octa-core processor with 4 gigs of RAM. These two, when working in tandem, provide 100% no-lag guarantee on the built-in Android Nougat without any doubts whatsoever. You won’t find a smartphone close to 30,000 rupees with 4 gigs of RAM while its internal storage also banks at a delightful 32GB. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner ensures you get additional security while its 3100 mAh battery contains enough juice to keep the P10 Lite running for at-least one full day.
