Huawei released the much awaited and anticipated Y6 Prime in April of 2018. The much awaited and anticipated budget smartphone was dubbed to be one of the best selling Huawei phones of 2018 and the most value for price delivering phone. But every phone no matter how good, has its downsides as well
Less boundaries, more screen:
The trend of introducing smartphones with less boundaries in order to give the users an everlasting experience was introduced by Samsung and later on adopted by LG. Huawei also adopted the concept and did their best with the Y6 Prime 2018. It rocks a 5.7 HD+ HUAWEI Full View SS-IPS display which is impressive to say the least. More screen and less boundaries in a phone at this price range? Truly impressive.
Cameras and Speakers, a HIGHLIGHT:
The Cameras and Speakers of the phone were heavily marketed prior to the release of the phone and after using the phone, we can confirm that you can not get a better sounding and picture clicking phone for under 20,000. The Speaker is easily at the level of some of the flagship phones of today and the camera puts to shame some of the more expensive alternatives. If you are genuinely looking for a phone with such features, Y6 Prime 2018 is the ultimate phone for you.
The front camera is 5MP and the back camera is 16MP and it sure gives some of the brightest results you can get at this range.
Hardware and Software:
Now this part might be a downside. With only 2 GB RAM and a storage option of only 16 GB. Although An additional SD Card slot has been provided with the phone, these aspects of the phone take a heavy beating probably to null down the price of this phone. You can easily get better models of Motorola or Vivo at a similar if not lower price rate. It runs on a Quad-Core 1.4 Ghz. The processing speed is decent to put it ‘lightly’. It comes with the all new Android 8.0 but can be further updated. The battery is 3000mAh which is not that impressive considering other budget phones can provide at least a minimum of 3500mAh but in order to not deviate the price, it is worth it.
Face Unlock and Fingerprint Sensor
Who would have ever imagined that a phone of this quality could support enhanced facial recognition? Well, look no further as the Y6 Prime does it beautifully. A fingerprint sensor at the rear side is also a plus and both of these features work brilliantly.
Pros:
- Excellent Face Unlock, Fingerprint
- Speakers, Cameras
- A promising screen design
- Value for money
Cons:
- Not necessarily a good looking smartphone
- Storage options could have been a lot better
