Another one of Huawei’s marvels in the budget smartphone category, the Huawei Y625 has defied the odds by providing some unexpected specs that you’d normally not expect in this sort of price range. This has become somewhat of an everyday thing for Huawei now and it probably shouldn’t come as a surprise to you as the company has mastered this trait, day by day.
Huawei’s Y series is almost entirely composed of budget smartphones whose sole purpose is to bring more to the user than the prices suggest. For us, the best Y series smartphone is the Y6 because of its stunning looks and fine performance. The Y625, although not as chic as the Y6, is a good smartphone with one feature that’ll particularly make you happy.
Its display comes in at 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a disappointing amount of pixel density. The display size and technology used in making the display is great but in our opinion, is soured by the low ppi. The Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor backed up by 1GB of RAM is good enough considering the amount you’re paying for it.
Now, for the thing that will put a smile to your face. The Y625 boasts an 8 megapixel primary camera beating a lot of other smartphones in this price range. 5 megapixels is the customary sensor size for this amount of cash but Huawei decided to go that extra mile with the Y625, fetching us a bigger sensor. The selfie camera is also there at 2 megapixels so photography is dual-ly covered.
Other than that, it comes in only 2 colors which might not be the best of news for you. Its internal storage also has a base of 4GB which we believe should’ve been 8GB. Another unfortunate feature to absorb. The battery however is a removable Li-Po 2000 mAh which means you can replace it in case it gets badly degraded.
Ending this review, we’re not really left with much to say except for the fact that only its camera is what stands out from the rest. Otherwise, a pretty much budget smartphone with its fair share of ups and downs with nothing much to give it an edge.
