Infinix is a Hong Kong based smartphone manufacturing company which aims to compete with the sprawling Chinese manufacturers as well as the already established giants such Apple, Samsung etc. The brand was established not so long ago and some of its releases such as the Infinix Hot 3 and the Infinix Hot Note have certainly captured the market’s attention because of their premium look and features.

Body and Display

The Infinix Hot 3 looks 100% metal because of its shiny look but in reality, the back is manufactured out of plastic with a fine textured finish that ensures it doesn’t looks boring. The screen and the back are separated by a metallic frame that superbly does its bit to further enhance the smartphone’s looks.

The front features a staggering 5.5 inches GFF-laminate HD touchscreen with the latest multi-touch technology. The 267ppi pixel density does well in igniting its 720p resolution which makes for an overall beautiful screen. The 5.5 inches touchscreen should do enough to catch the attention of those users who’re phablet-crazy.

Camera

One of the Infinix Hot 3’s slogans is its ability to capture excellent selfies and photographs in general. The front camera features a rather disappointing 2 megapixel sensor but Infinix argues that it contains larger pixels with a wide angle lens that ensures wider selfies. This allows you to fit more people/landscape into your picture. The back camera sounds like a competitive 8 megapixel sensor with 5-element lens camera and it seems enough to do well with taking crisp pictures. Although, we’d personally would have liked to see a larger sensor in the front camera as 2 megapixels are not competitive enough nowadays, if not obsolete.

Hardware and Software

The Infinix Hot 3 runs on the Android v5.1 Lollipop. What makes this association possible is the presence of a Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor with the option of either 1 or 2GB of RAM depending on which variant you choose to buy. We’d recommend going for the 2GB RAM variant as it will do much better in its quest to provide you with a lag free experience.
