The smartphone world is constantly evolving with the help of new trends slowly seeping their way into the smartphone food chain. Among these is the introduction of dual-selfie sensors and Infinix sees them as an entry point into the hearts of millions out there with the Infinix S2 coming-up on stage showing-off one of these babies.
The design presents nothing different to what we’ve previously seen
The Infinix S2 struts up on stage with a design that although features premium build materials, is devoid of anything new. Emphasizing on its good more than its bad, the smartphone features an all-metal back that adds a-lot to how it looks with its dimensions camping within the realms of acceptability.
The display’s adequately sized but not so adequately powered
We say this because the S2 features a 5.2 inches capacitive touchscreen with 2.5D curve edged Dragon trail glass protection but 720p resolution. We can’t really complain seeing how well the smartphone is priced so we’d advise you to man-up and take advantage of its good bucks rather than sob on its slightly toned-down resolution.
Time for the maaaaaain event!
At the beginning, we talked about a dual-selfie sensor being the S2’s main attraction. Going into the details, the smartphone features a powerful 13 megapixel + 8 megapixel selfie or as Infinix likes to call it the “Wefie” sensor that’s said to capture utterly stunning and wider selfies than previously possible on any Infinix device. Oppo F3 Plus, you’ve got some competition here.
Not always do we talk about selfie sensors before primary ones but the S2 had to be one of those exceptions. Back to primary cameras, the smartphone features a 13 megapixel sensor and a dual-tone LED flash. Good enough, eh?
Hardware and software
The Infinix S2 is powered by an octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM. Android Marshmallow is its preferred OS and bar some very occasional lag, it’ll do fine with the power it’s gonna receive. Internal storage at 32 gigs is always a pleasure to hear and an external memory card slot, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3000 mAh battery with fast charging technology and three color schemes ending the world’s first “wefie” smartphone with some promise.
