The year 2016 has promised to bring many excellent smartphones. Particularly for LG, the company has recently released its much coveted increment to the G series in the form of the LG G5 which promises excitement among users around the world because of its tremendous specifications. While that may be LG’s high profile flagship, the company has also decided to focus a bit on budget smartphones through the impending release of the LG K5: A smartphone made for low budget.
The LG K5 is one of LG’s newest devices. The smartphone has targeted the budget smartphone category which, in all fairness, was calling for an addition from LG. The K5 might not be the hunk you were hoping for and we do believe that in the year 2016, LG could’ve done better with the K5 (Knock knock Huawei, OnePlus etc.).
The K5 mirrors that to typical budget smartphones with nothing out of the ordinary. The 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen might come in as welcome news for some users but it is somewhat let down by a low 196 ppi pixel density. The resolution is a poor 480p which makes for an overall disappointing display category.
The build quality is fine with the Asahi Dragontrail glass protecting the display and a removable metallic-finish back that, upon removal, enfolds a removable 1900 mAh lithium ion battery. Finally something to celebrate.
While the G series shelter feature rich cameras, the K5 has shown to be a disappointment yet again with its cameras. The bac features a plain 5 megapixel sensor with an LED flash whereas the front features a 2 megapixel sensor. We don’t really know what to expect from these minions. Therefore, fingers crossed on camera performance!
The K5 isn’t a load of power as is testified by the presence of a Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7 processor with an annoying 1GB of supportive RAM. Lag will stop by regularly while the K5 tries to do its best to run the built-in Android v5.1.1 Lollipop. The internal storage stands at 8GB but it is expandable. A disappointment overall, LG should’ve taken inspiration from the newer Chinese manufacturers to come up with something catchy.
These are some best mobiles similar to LG K5. I think you’ll like them, too.
