Phablets and large screens have become one of the most loved smartphone types in recent years. Ever since Samsung’s first Note surfaced, people have badly fallen in love with these big devices particularly because of some of the extra functionality they offered with their stylus and a cinematic feel when watching movies on their large screens. Microsoft recognized this trend and out came its own contender which we know by the name of the Lumia 640 XL. Let’s delve into it and see what is all the fuss about.
The Lumia 640 XL is a small but noticeable upgrade to its miniature version, the Lumia 640. The larger version, by name, guarantees a bigger screen but there are some other tweaks to it that make it a much better choice to go for than the smaller device if you have the capability to go that extra mile with cash.
The two standout features of the Lumia 640 XL are its huge display and muscular primary camera. Other than that, there is little to none that separates both the Lumias. The display weighs in at 5.7 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 259 ppi pixel density. The ppi density is a bit lower than what we expected but the ClearBlack technology, which is known to reduce glare, might cover well for it.
The primary camera has an outstanding 13 megapixel sensor which is a definite improvement on its smaller version. The selfie camera has also been buffed up to 5 megapixels which is surely music to your ears. Hence, good photography is served on a platter for you to enjoy. Performance wise, it offers the same Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A7 processor as its younger brother and 1GB of RAM that will keep its promise to provide almost lag-free experience.
With that we reach the end of our review of the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is a definite upgrade not just on its smaller version but on most other Lumias. The larger than life screen and the tremendous cameras definitely warrant recognition which is aided by the economical price you'll have to pay for it. It's a win-win!
