Motorola may have had a multi-billion dollar merger with Lenovo but both the companies are producing stand-alone devices as well. The Motorola G5 Plus is one another excellent device coming out of the long and efficient Motorola G series conveyor belt and one can easily see that the company’s success looks all set to continue.
Build quality and display
The G5 Plus mirrors a typical Motorola design seen in many devices such as the Nexus 5X, LG U etc. with the two speaker grills occupying the front and bottom bezels sandwiching an excellent display in between them. Build material mostly comprises of polycarbonate plastic with the back featuring a capsule shaped platform on which the primary camera sensor and LED flash reside on.
The display features a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 401ppi pixel density. This translates into a stunning 1080p HD resolution which is sure to produce jaw-dropping graphics on an adequately sized display. It’s a win-win!
Cameras
The smartphone features two powerful cameras in the form of a Hulk-like 16 megapixel primary sensor with a dual-tone LED flash and customary features which include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and auto-HDR. The secondary camera tries its bit to ensure that your photo and videography is covered spectacularly from all fronts as its 5 megapixel sensor looks finely poised to dance to the music.
Hardware and software
A powerful combination of an Octa-Core processor with either 3 or 4 gigs of RAM powers the G5 Plus. The smartphone becomes one of Motorola’s first devices to come in with Android Nougat out of the box and its processing power suggests you have nothing to worry about. Its internal storage banks at either 16/32 gigs while you also get to call upon the services of the external memory card slot at will.
Its sensors include a front mounted fingerprint scanner, accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass while fast charge ensures that the smartphone is stuffed with all the latest features a modern smartphone should have. Dual-SIM capability is also available while a non-removable battery and black/white color schemes are its other notable mentions.
