Unlike most other smartphone manufacturers, OnePlus has somewhat limited itself in smartphone production by coming up with not more than 4-5 smartphones to date. Their quality is unprecedented however with not many devices coming close to them competitively. If you though that the OnePlus 5 was a beast, wait until the OnePlus 5T introduces itself to you with an expected launch price of 70,000 rupees.
If there was ever any doubt, OnePlus had to come up with something that complied with where the world is heading towards. Unlike the Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 that defied the bezel-less norm come 2017, the OnePlus 5T seems quite like what we or you expected. The front panel features almost no bezels, more like the Huawei Mate 10, while the back panel houses an aluminum frame. The dimensions are within fine margins while dust and waterproofing remains missing from this hardware-savvy smartphone.
The OnePlus 5T is close to its predecessor when it comes to size and dimensions but due to the minimal bezels it has to offer, the smartphone features a bigger display. While its quality still stands at 1080p due to the 402ppi pixel density in store, the bigger display size of 6.0 inches with Optic AMOLED technology adds some value to an already purposeful display topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. This might seem somewhat inadequate to you considering that the smartphone market is swarmed with 1440p displays nowadays but we’d advise you not to take this display lightly, at all.
Other than bezel-less displays, having a dual primary camera sensor is something that defines the true masculinity of smartphones nowadays. The OnePlus 5T once again doesn’t disappoints in the cameras department as the 20 MP dual primary camera sensor not only has muscle but loads of features as well that include EIS(gyro), phase detection autofocus, 1.6x optical zoom and a dual-tone LED flash. There’s not much more you could ask for from a smartphone camera and we’re absolutely sure about its quality.
While most other smartphones offer plain selfie sensors with large megapixels, the OnePlus 5T offers something out of the box with a 16 MP sensor with EIS(gyro) and Auto-HDR of its own. A shout-out for all the selfie crazy, the OnePlus 5T definitely has two supreme camera sensors up its sleeve.
The OnePlus 5 broke many records for the performance-savvy hardware it had in store. It was hard to wonder how the company will better that but its successor goes even better by sporting even more power in its power-packed variant; the smartphone comes in two variants, both powered by an octa-core processor and running Android Oreo.
The differentiation between the two is provided courtesy of their RAM and internal storage with the lighter version (lighter only by name) featuring 64GB of internal storage and 6GB RAM. If you thought that was it, just wait to get acquainted with the even more power-packed 128GB internal storage plus 8GB RAM. The RAM is even more than what computers offer nowadays meaning that lag atop the OnePlus 5T is not an option.
Other important and necessary specifications include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Dirac HD sound for improved speaker performance, USB type-C, Dash Charge and a non-removable 3500 mAh battery. Unfortunately, you won’t get more skins with the OnePlus 5T as the smartphone only comes in Slate Gray colour but what you do have is optional dual-SIM capability.
