Our country is a hotbed for manufacturers that emphasize more on value for money smartphones as the spending power of an average Pakistani mostly allows him/her to purchase either mid or budget smartphones. Oppo has been doing its bit to ensure that the Pakistani public can get their hands on some excellent smartphones in good prices and the A57 seems like another one of those. It is a higher-end version of the Oppo A37.
At first glance, the Oppo A57 seemed like the F1s because of the incredible similarities both smartphones posses with regards to their exteriors. With a metal unibody design that’s incredibly lightweight at 146g, the A57 is another typical Oppo release. Other than sheltering the display, its front panel also features a home button underneath of which a fingerprint scanner is embedded. Last but not the least is its sleek 7.65mm width which is a trademark of many Oppo devices.
The smartphone features a 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a 720p resolution. Good enough for daily requirements, it might just let you down if you’re one for ultra-sharp graphics.
Oppo is known more for its cameras than anything else. The company’s devices have always contained powerful sensors and the A57 yet again features a large 13 megapixel sensor with an LED flash. Primed to produce excellent results, there’s no reason to doubt this camera’s prospects.
The selfie camera features a 16 megapixel sensor. You might think we’re bluffing but that’s how things stand and that’s why Oppo never ceases to amaze us by pulling off something different with most of its releases. Not many smartphones feature a selfie camera this big so we’d advise you to take loads and loads of selfies and enjoy it to the fullest.
The A57 is powered by loads of power made possible through a 1.4 GHz Octa-Core processor with an additional 3GB of RAM. Despite coming in the latter part of 2016, the smartphone features Android Marshmallow rather than Android Nougat but we’re optimistic about the former running smoothly on the smartphone.
The device features 32 gigs of internal storage while dual-SIM capability, a fingerprint scanner and an adequate 2900 mAh battery draws the A57 to a close.
