You may have heard of budget devices, mid-rangers and what not when it comes to the world of smartphones but Oppo’s R11 Plus causes another category of smartphones to rise up to the occasion; the smartphone is an excellent value for money flagship that finely balances out its price-tag of 50,000 rupees with some top-drawer specs up its sleeve.
While the caption states that the R11 Plus copies the iPhone 7 Plus with aplomb, the smartphone ensures that it loses zero quality and premium-ness in doing so. The device features an aesthetically pleasing all metal build while its design is a pretty known quantity at this moment in time. Finely complimenting its all-round premium-ness, we have a 7.8mm width and 188g weight; could’ve maybe seen a slight improvement, yes?
Easily guessable by now, Plus models always promise bigger displays than their smaller counterparts. The R11 features a large 5.5 inch display in itself but the R11 Plus cranks it up a notch by featuring a phablet-sized 6.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 368ppi pixel density. Stretching to produce a 1080p HD resolution, it’s fair to say that the touchscreen would produce admirable graphics atop the big-sized display.
It was hard to guess how the R11 Plus would improve upon the already blistering camera sensors of the R11. So, there’s no need to feel hard done by the fact that the R11 Plus features exactly similar cameras to its smaller counterpart as they’re splendid by all means.
Setting the pace with the primary camera we have a huge 20 + 16 MP dual sensor with much more to show for than only its megapixels such as splendid camera features that include phase detection autofocus and 2160p video recording quality.
The selfie camera features a huge 20 MP sensor of its own which is something the selfie crazy would cherish to their very bones. There simply aren’t many bigger sensors out there and the R11 Plus not only promises a bigger size but admirable snapping prowess.
Other than featuring bigger displays, Plus models sometimes tend to feature slightly improved hardware up their sleeves as well; the R11 Plus does exactly that despite featuring a similar octa-core processor but what does sees some more beefing-up is the smartphone’s RAM that now stands at 6 gigs. All doubts about any lag on the built-in Android Nougat should have been eliminated by now.
As was the case with the R11, the R11 Plus features 64 gigs of internal storage with an expandable card-slot up to 256 gigs. A front-mounted Samsung-styled fingerprint scanner was definitely something you were looking for while VOOC fast charging, dual-SIM capability, a gigantic 4000 mAh non-removable battery and 3 different colour schemes namely Black Gold and Rose Gold rounding-off the R11 Plus with some style.
