In an era where more and more specifications have started to creep into smartphones, Oppo is doing its utmost to keep pace with the rest. Its R series has already paid numerous dividends as of late and this just seems to be the beginning for this Chinese manufacturer; enter Oppo R9s.
Build quality and display
The Oppo R9s is an excellent mixture of aesthetics and performance alike. The smartphone features a full metal unibody design which includes a full metal back while the front features the display panel. The smartphone seems like a Samsung-iPhone hybrid due to its home button and iPhone 6S-ish body design. Its dimensions are sleek that beautifully combine the unibody design with a satisfying user experience. Statistically speaking, it features a 6.6mm width while it weighs in a meagre 145g. Now that’s what you call diva-ish stuff.
Its display features a 5.5 inches 1080p capacitive touchscreen with 401ppi pixel density. A shout-out to all large screen lovers; this could be what you’re looking for.
Cameras
We’re not sure as to what the “s” stands for in the R9s. It can be speed or it may just be selfie by the looks of its gigantic selfie sensor. Yes! The smartphone features a 16 megapixel secondary sensor which is much bigger than most primary sensors in the market nowadays. The result as you would’ve guessed by now is an ultimate selfie experience.
The primary camera stands toe to toe with its secondary counterpart with a 16 megapixel sensor as well. Phase detection autofocus ensures that you won’t have to compromise on photo quality at all. In short, both the cameras combine to devastating effect in the Oppo R9s.
Hardware and software
The R9s isn’t just about aesthetics and cameras; it’s also very well supplemented by processing power as is testified by its Octa-Core 2.0 GHz processor with an additional 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is one of the few smartphones in the market to receive such amount of RAM. So, beware built-in Android Marshmallow!
Its internal storage banks at 64 gigs while a fingerprint sensor and a large non-removable battery are some its other characteristics you should be aware about.
