For the past couple of years, a growing trend of a flagship together with its larger counterpart being introduced together has gained pace. Just like Apple does, Oppo followed suit and has been following a similar pattern as of late. That brings us to the larger sibling of the Oppo R9s, the Oppo R9s Plus.
Build quality and display
The R9s Plus is one of the most well designed Oppo phones yet. But, we’ll be honest here. The design is a complete copy of the iPhone 6 and 6S with the singular speaker grill and the earphone jack on its bottom while the front somewhat mimics any Samsung device due to its Samsung looking home button. But, taking nothing away from its aesthetics, the smartphone features a beautiful metal unibody with sleek dimensions. The smartphone has a 7.4mm width while it weighs in at 185g.
The R9s Plus’s display features a large 6.0 inches capacitive display with 367ppi pixel density. This translates into a 1080p HD resolution so we’d advise you to keep your eyes in check as its razor sharp graphics might be too much for your eyes.
Cameras
The R9s Plus is big. Not just in size but also in its camera sensors. The smartphone features a large 16 megapixel primary sensor with phase detection autofocus technology. This allows crisp capturing of objects in motion while the secondary camera features a huge 16 megapixel sensor as well. With this, the R9s Plus wanders into unknown territories as selfie sensors don’t really see these many megapixels.
Hardware and software
The Oppo R9s Plus is powered by some of the most muscular hardware in the market; we’re talking a hybrid Octa-Core processor comprising of a mixture of Cortex processors. The smartphone has already wandered into the unknown with its 16 megapixel selfie sensor and its 6GB of RAM will further push it forward. This means you won’t have to worry about how the built-in Android Marshmallow would do as it only has one way to go; FAST!
Other than these, a large 4000 mAh battery will promise excellent battery life while the fingerprint sensor keeps the R9s Plus up to speed with the rest of the smartphone world.
