QMobile has firmly laid its foundations in producing entry level to mid-range smartphones with most of them doing a fine job. Some of them haven’t been up to the mark while some such as the Noir Z9 Plus have brought a lot of fame and prestige to the local Pakistani manufacturer. That said, we’re shifting off course and peeking into the entry level with some help from the Noir i2. It is related to the Noir i1.
Build quality and display
This particular smartphone is like any other QMobile device from all directions. The customary three capacitive buttons on the bottom front bezel, required to operate the device, doesn’t really gives the most attractive of looks while the entirely plastic frame seems finely finished.
Turning our attention to its display; we’ve observed that the smartphone features a 4.5 inches capacitive touchscreen with 298ppi pixel density. This equates to a rather unfortunate 540p resolution that simply won’t be enough. Should’ve been better and we don’t really know as to how such lowly resolutions are still coming out of the box these days.
Cameras
The cameras category somewhat brings good news; we’ve got two cameras here and fortunately the i2 hasn’t ditched the selfie camera to keep the prices down. The primary camera features a sane 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash while the secondary camera barely exists (but exists) with a VGA sensor. Ever heard of those? Yes that’s even lesser quality than 1.0 megapixel! But we’d advise you to feel happy about the selfie camera being there rather than fret on its poor quality.
Hardware and software
The QMobile Noir i2 is powered by a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor with an additional 1GB of RAM. Not much surprise here as we’ve gotten used to seeing this combination which definitely isn’t enough for the built-in Android Lollipop. Nevertheless, it’s still there.
Its internal storage banks at 8 gigs of which around 4GB is available for your everyday usage while an external memory card slot is also in attendance. Dual-SIM capability is one of its shining lights while its price sitting pretty just below 7,000 rupees might just be enough to give an overall disappointing smartphone some weight
