QMobile is one of the most successful companies in Pakistan, providing phones with great specifications at very appealing prices. They’ve been around for quite a while and have acquired a lot of the market share in the low-end region and some in the mid-range as well. But the thing is, for the price of a mid-ranger, they provide phones with very good hardware that can only be found in high-end devices and even flagships. Having a local smartphone company also benefits the people of our country who wouldn’t have to pay more than a phone’s actual price, unlike some other big companies. The Noir W50 is another addition to the lower region.
The Noir W50 is a low end phone with some changes, not only on the outside but also on the inside, when compared to its predecessors. The design somewhat makes you feel like the display is right in your face. The 4.5” IPS FWVGA (854 x 480 pixels) display yields good output for the touches provided. The 218 ppi pixel density for a low-end phone isn’t bad at all. The phone has support for both 2G and 3G networks.
In terms of hardware, the phone has a processor clocked at 1.2 GHz with four cores, coupled with 1 gig of RAM which is pretty good. These specifications will certainly be able to get you through most of the apps out there fairly smoothly. In terms of internal storage, it comes with 8 GB of memory and can also be expanded with a microSD expansion slot which supports cards up to 32 GB.
The phone is equipped with two cameras as well, which is surprising for a phone of this price. It has a 5 megapixels rear camera that is accompanied by an LED Flash, supports auto focus and can record video as well. On the front is a VGA camera which may seem a bit too small compared to the rest of the market, but for the price is a good addition.
In terms of battery life, the phone has a 1750 mAh battery, and while QMobile likes to claim their devices last pretty long, the battery isn’t really going to get you that much of time on heavy use. On average, however, it can certainly get you through the day.
