QMobile is slowly and steadily growing in our local market courtesy of some stellar releases that include the Noir Z9 among many others. The company has its wings spread in multiple categories and the smartphone that’s caught our attention for today belongs to the entry level; we’re talking about the Noir W70.
Build quality and display
The Noir W70 is one of the cheapest QMobile releases present in the market today. That automatically puts the smartphone in a zone where you’re unlikely to find many interesting features. Same can be said of its build quality and design that mirrors a typical QMobile smartphone with 3 capacitive buttons on the front bottom bezel while the build comprises entirely of plastic with an 8.5mm width plus 133g weight.
Speaking about its display, the smartphone features a 4.5 inches FWVGA capacitive touchscreen with 240ppi pixel density. This translates into a rather lowly 480p resolution that isn’t sharp at all and likely produces pixelated graphics.
Cameras
The smartphone fortunately features two cameras as entry level smartphones have a huge tendency to ditch front facing cameras to keep the prices down. The Noir W70 features a 5 megapixel primary sensor with autofocus and an LED flash. The secondary camera features a 2 megapixel sensor that’s exactly what we expected and we’re relieved to see the sensor not getting downgraded to VGA.
Hardware and software
The smartphone features a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core processor with an additional 1GB of RAM. Not sufficient enough to run the built-in Android Lollipop which wasn’t even expected of it anyway. Its internal storage banks at 8GB of which around 4 gigs is available for your usage while the external memory card slot can be called into assistance anytime you please. But beware; don’t stuff it to the fullest as it’ll proportionally increase the lag on the smartphone.
The device also supports dual-SIM functionality while it’s marketed in 4 different color schemes. Other than that, a removable 1850 mAh battery is mixed news as it does allow you to replace a degraded battery but its slender capacity means not enough battery life. The smartphone is priced just below 8,000 rupees, which is one of the few good things about the Noir W70
