2016 has not only brought the best out of Samsung’s Galaxy S series but we’ve also witnessed some great additions to the Samsung family which include the Galaxy A3 2016. A more affordable variant of the Galaxy A7 and A5 2016, the A3 2016 features excellent specifications that merit the price it commands.
Body and Display
Built along similar lines of its larger variants, the A3 2016 or the A3 2016 Duos contains two glass panels on its front and back separated by a metallic frame in between. The glass panels provide a smooth feel to it and add beauty to the A3 2016’s charm. About the metallic frame, it is a gem in itself. A fine combination of both the glass panels and the metal frame make for a brilliant looking smartphone.
The display features a 4.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 312ppi pixel density. 312ppi is very good and falls very close to Apple’s Retina display boundary. The display offers 720p HD resolution which results in nifty graphics and the 132g weight of the smartphone is surprisingly light. The internal storage comes in at 16GB which is expandable up to 256GB through the external memory card slot.
Camera
When it comes to Samsung, we sometimes don’t really feel the need to review their cameras because they’re so good. Anyway, the primary camera features a 13 megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture sized lens plus an LED flash to make sure you do not shy away from taking pictures in the dark. The front camera features a 5 megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture lens that does well enough to capture good quality selfies.
Hardware and Software
The processing on the Galaxy A3 2016 is done by a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor with an additional 1.5GB RAM. This might not prove enough to completely eliminate lag but it should do well enough to provide you with a satisfactory user experience. The smartphone comes in stock with Android v5.1.1 Lollipop which is upgradable to the latest Marshmallow v6.0.1. Although many other Huawei, Lenovo, Oppo etc. phones provide better specifications within the same price, the A3 2016 does enough to put a smile on Samsung fanboys.
