Phablets. Phablets everywhere. Phablets have taken the smartphone world by storm due to their bigger than normal sizes, larger touchscreens and the stylus pens that accompany them. They’ve become the darling of businessmen, artists and users who prefer using their phablets instead of tv’s to watch movies or shows. Samsung has obliged into being a phablet friendly brand and one of its notable additions to its phablet family is the Samsung Galaxy A8 2016.
Body and Display
The Galaxy A8 2016 is a typical Samsung style smartphone but with a different build to what we’ve grown accustomed to seeing in most of Samsung’s devices. The smartphone features a metallic unibody design, something very similar to the HTC 10 as well as the Galaxy C5 and C7, while its 7.2mm width deserves all the plaudits in the world. It weighs in at 182g which is a tad overweight but its fine weight distribution gives the smartphone a lighter feel.
The Galaxy A8 2016 features a 5.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 386ppi pixel density. It unsurprisingly offers 1080p HD resolution which goes on very well with the large display. Sit back, relax and enjoy a crisp large display.
Camera
Coming to the camera, we’re talking 16 megapixels with an aperture size of f/1.9 and an LED flash for the primary camera. Unfortunately, nothing like phase detection autofocus or Optical image stabilization to talk about but we’re optimistic that its large megapixel won’t let you down as Samsung prowess in producing superb cameras is well known.
The large 8 megapixel front camera would’ve been a primary camera on any other day so expect top notch photography from both fronts.
Hardware and Software
Nobody likes to wait. With an Octa-core processor and a whopping 3 GB of RAM, performance will not be neglected and excellently delivered for users to enjoy a lag free experience on the built-in Android Marshmallow. Internal storage stands at 32GB but expandable through the external card slot. Unfortunately no Fast charge technology to talk about here but fingerprint sensor and a reliable but non-removable Li-Ion 3300 mAh battery being some of its other notable features.
