The J series is one of Samsung’s most popular and profitable lineups because of their great feature for price ratio. And because of its success, Samsung updates the lineup every year, and now we’re introduced to the Galaxy J3 2018. Priced at roughly Rs. 22,000, the J3 2018 is in everybody’s price range.
Design and screen... and camera
The Galaxy J3 2018 is not that different in design from its previous iteration as it still sports a 5 inch 720p display. The good part is it’s still an AMOLED one so colors are nice and vibrant. The phone is metal compared to previous generations which were plastic. Above the screen is the 5MP front facing camera with 1080p video recording, something you don’t see at this price range from major brands, so kudos Sammy.
The back of the phone is where the main 8MP camera is located. Yes, it’s of lesser resolution compared to the Galaxy J3 2017 but we all know Samsung only lowers the resolution count when there’s an increase in image quality.
Hardware
The hardware in the Galaxy J3 2018 is pretty standard for a Samsung midrange device. We have 2GB of RAM on board and 16GB of internal storage. A quad core processor is what keeps the device running. Android Nougat 7.1.1 is on board, since flagships are treated to Oreo first. The battery of the J3 2018 should see you through one day of usage.
