The Galaxy J8 does not come with a glass back. The device is made up of plastic yet gives a solid look and feel overall. Round curved edges give a nice grip in hands which is very impressive.
The J8 does come with a fingerprint sensor which is placed on the back side of the phone below the cameras. The sensor performs well in most of the conditions hence adding an extra layer of security to the phone.
The Galaxy J8 offers a dual-camera setup on its back, featuring a 16-megapixel primary sensor mated with a 5MP depth-sensing lens. On the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with soft LED flash. The camera interface is loaded with several camera modes such as Pro, Panorama, Beauty, Live Focus, Stickers, and Continuous Shot. Each mode has something different to offer, which brings the device in line with some of the premium offerings. In terms of overall output, the rear cameras take decent photographs with good color details in daylight but tend to struggle under low-light conditions. The selfie camera takes decent shots during the day but struggles in low light. However, the phone’s overall camera performance is good and in line with what other smartphones in the same segment offer.
Galaxy J8 comes with Android 8.0 (Oreo) and is upgradable to Android 9.0 (Pie). However, Samsung is known for drastically slower software updates when it comes to their mid-range and budget devices.
Samsung Galaxy J8's lowest price in Pakistan is Rs.29,000.
