Samsung’s latest budget phone, the Galaxy Y, has been fairing pretty well especially because of its low-price tag and the attractive design. The Galaxy Y Duos uses the same 3.14 Inch screen with a resolution of 240 x 320 that is suited to the small touch screen.

Running on a 832 MHz processor and 290 MB of RAM, this Samsung phone may not be suited for heavy gaming but it performs quite well for a low-end Android phone. It has 2 GB of internal memory along with a microSD card slot for storing all the apps, games, music or even movies. Samsung has incorporated a 3.15 MP in the Y Duos which is good enough for taking some basic photos. It runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz overlay to give you some additional features.

The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is powered by 1300 Li-ion battery that is enough to get you through a couple of days of average usage. Samsung says that it can give you up to 360 hours of standby and 9 hours of talk time.

The connectivity feature includes all the normal things like GSM, EDGE, GPRS and Wi-Fi while the real star of the phone is the Dual-SIM feature letting you take advantage of two SIMs at once. The default apps are good enough to keep you happy but if you don’t find them good enough, the 700,000+ apps are available from the Google Play Store for you to take advantage.
