The Sony Xperia Ion is basically similar to Sony’s Xperia S but comes with a bigger screen, a few design changes and also LTE. Carrying on the trend of the same high-quality and industry leading minimalistic design, this phone has set the bar high for other manufacturers to match. Even with that, Sony has managed to cram all this in a 10.8 mm thin chassis. The Xperia Ion comes with a 4.55 Inch 720 x 1280 LED-backlit LCD capacitive touchscreen which is protected by a Scratch-resistant glass which is one of the best display all around.

It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread by default but it can be upgraded to Android 4.0 ICS. On the other hand, Sony has announced that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade will be coming pretty soon keeping you up to date with Google’s Android updates.

Like other Sony phones, the 12 MP Autofocus Camera With LED Flash on the back of the Ion doesn’t disappoint. The color-accuracy was exceptional in the pics taken by this camera sensor. There is also a front camera that supports 720p HD videos and photos, a dream for users of Skype or other video-calling services.

Boasting a 1.5 GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon processor and 1 GB of RAM, the Xperia Ion proved to be constantly speedy and smooth even while handling heavy games and apps. The big 1900 mAh battery is certainly a blessing which will easily last a day with moderate usage. Additionally, a “Power Saver” app helps in saving a lot of power when you are away from your charger.

Having all the basic connectivity features like EDGE, GPRS, GPS, 3G, Wi-Fi, 4G, Bluetooth and even NFC, this phone is a great choice.
