A narrower flagship release timescale together with release after release of its latest smartphones, Sony’s new X series is now its most prodigal. One of its newest additions, the Sony Xperia XA has literally rocked not only Sony but almost all manufacturers out there. The narrowest 5 inch display smartphone coupled with an ovation-worthy set of specifications epitomize Sony’s new brilliant release.

Body and Display

The Xperia XA is built exclusively Sony-style with the front carrying the display flanked by two thick bezels and the back simply carrying the primary camera plus LED flash. The smartphone is the cheapest of the Xperia X series and we’re guessing that the “A” in the Xperia XA might, just might stand for affordable.

The smartphone is, along with the Samsung Galaxy S4, the slimmest smartphone to carry a 5 inches display as testified by GSMArena. The Galaxy S4 made a name for itself because of its sleek waist and maybe, time has now come to pass the torch to the Sony Xperia XA. The display in numbers is a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 294ppi pixel density. This amount of pixel density is fine enough to provide sharp graphics and a 720p HD resolution.

Camera

While not all of Sony’s cameras we’ve personally tested have put a smile on our face, the Sony Xperia XA’s cameras look set to give us what we exactly require. The primary camera features a 13 megapixel sensor with phase-detection autofocus technology to ensure superior snapping. The selfie camera shows a fair share of muscle as it carries an 8 megapixel sensor with HDR and autofocus capabilities making for an all-rounder.

Hardware and Software

The Sony Xperia XA is powered by an Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor with an additional 2GB of RAM which provides ample power to run the built-in Android v6.0.1 Marshmallow and provide a streamlined user experience. Fast charge technology and 4 sublime colors have done enough to convince us of its immense quality.
