Chinese manufacturers are showing no mercy to the Pakistani smartphone market as we’ve witnessed another bigshot making its way to our shores. Vivo, China’s third most popular smartphone producer, has landed into our country with one of its ultimate weapons, the Vivo V5s. Here’s all you need to know about this device.
Vivo’s sure to bring even bigger smiles on the faces of many people out there as the company is all about giving more in less. That’s pretty much what Chinese manufacturers are all about and with Vivo’s proven pedigree in this department, local market competition will surely crank-up another notch.
The V5s is identically designed to some famed Oppo devices that include the A57, F1 Plus etc. with a slender build and excellent dimensions. Metal is the designated material of choice while its 7.6mm width and 154g weight beautifully complement the smartphone’s exterior. We must say, there’s nothing much to separate the Vivo V5s from most other Oppo devices.
One cannot complain for always wanting to own an HD 1080p display and that is exactly what we expected from the V5s. However, the smartphone features a large 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 267ppi pixel density that equates to a slightly toned-down 720p resolution. 720p definitely isn’t bad at all but it seems just a tiny bit stretched on a large 5.5 inches display. However, all smiles here as the large display promises to deliver excellent graphics and Apple-like 3D-touch technology.
It seems like Vivo has taken another leaf out of Oppo’s book as the V5s features more of what we’ve seen Oppo doing ever since its inception; we’re talking about huge camera sensors, both at the front and back panels. Not many times do we get to talk about the selfie sensors before the primary ones because of them being dwarfed by their much more powerful counterparts. The V5s however does the exact opposite with the selfie camera featuring a muscular 20 megapixel sensor that surely makes this smartphone more of a selfie-phone.
The primary camera is no slouch either with a giant 13 megapixel sensor of its own plus phase detection autofocus. Customary camera features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama follow suit that makes the V5s well suited for photo and videography on both fronts.
The smartphone is powered by an octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor with an additional 4 gigs of RAM. That gives the V5s impetus to perform at the highest level, meaning that the built-in Android Marshmallow will have no troubles at all. Its internal storage stands at 64 gigs while an external memory card-slot, a front-mounted fingerprint scanner, a non-removable 3000 mAh battery and 2 different colour schemes bringing an end to the V5s in the best possible of notes.
