Black Shark 2 is the third addition to the Shark series by Xiaomi, that came into being as a result of the rapidly growing trend of mobile gaming. It has got all that it takes to be a perfect gaming smartphone including a powerful processor, massive battery, and gaming-centric design.

Design and Built

The Black Shark 2’s design, just like its descendants, is built to provide the gamers maximum ease of use while playing games. However, it is a more subtle and improved version of the previous two. Well, it is made up of a solid metal body with glossy finish on top that is more prone to smudging.

Display

The Black Shark 2 has a full HD+ super AMOLED display of 6.39 inches. The display renders lively colors and the brightness levels are also reasonable. There are as such no issues reported about the brightness or display under the sun.

Software and Processor

The black Shark comes with an Android 9 (Pie) version that operates with Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and octa-core processor. There is also a Gaming Shark Space with a dedicated switch that enhances your gaming experience more than before. This powerful processor in combination with 8/12 GB RAM makes the Shark 2 performance as furious as the shark itself. Your Shark 2 will rarely hang while usage and there is an uninterrupted flow of applications almost all the time.

In addition to that Black Shark comes in two memory variants 128 GB and 256 GB. You can have whatever you want. It sets you free from worrying about memory issues. You can store all your data as well as your favorite games too.

Talking about the performance, be it multi-tasking or graphic-intensive games, Black Shark 2 excelled at taking up all the burden that you throw on it with all the ease. All the games and apps ran at their utmost graphics with very fine resolutions that too without a glitch. The experience of playing PUBG was butter-smooth.

The liquid cooling system this time was little enhanced but it can not prevent the smartphone from getting warm for a long time and eventually after half an hour or so phone become warm.

Battery

The Black Shark 2’s powerhouse is backed by a 4000 mAh battery that supports moderate to heavy usage and is good to go through a day. After all the functions we carry out throughout the day as well as couple of hours of gaming, the battery still has some charge left for your very basic calling and texting.

The Camera of Black Shark 2

The Black Shark 2 houses a 48-megapixel main camera coupled with a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. On the front there is a 20-megapixel camera for your selfies. Additionally, there is HDR, portrait mode and slow-mo as well.

In daylight, the phone captures decent quality pictures but on zooming the image pixels got burst. On the whole, the shots captured good amount of details but colors and graphics are over-saturated taking away the natural look of the photos. There is no specific night mode and photos clicked at night are of average quality. Though the portrait mode works quite well with pleasant details and highlights but that too again only in good light conditions.

The Final Word

On the whole, Black Shark 2 is near to perfect for all the gamers out there with all the crazy features that level up your smartphone experience completely.
