iPhone X-like smartphones have bombarded the smartphone world in 2018. Ever since the famed Apple flagship made its way to the market, many smartphone manufacturers such as Huawei, Vivo, OnePlus and now Xiaomi have copied its designed and come-up with their own goodies. The Xiaomi Mi 8 SE is one of these and if you were on the look-out for a somewhat affordable iPhone X like clone, do take a look at this one.
The Mi 8 SE is a slightly toned-down version of the Mi 8 Explorer. However, despite it being a toned-down version of the aforementioned smartphone, this guy is still loaded with wholesome features. Build wise, an all glass body is what we’re seeing here with an aluminum frame separating both the panels. A 7.5mm width is exactly what we would’ve liked to see while the 165g weigh is okay-ish if not the best.
The smartphone’s front panel is fitted with an almost iPhone X like look. While most other manufacturers have incorporated a smaller notch, the Mi 8 SE’s notch looks somewhat exactly like the iPhone X’s.
Delving deeper into the display we have a 5.88 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 423ppi pixel density. Equating to a 1080p HD resolution, your graphics-savvy user experience is well and truly safe with the Mi 8 SE. An HD display rising from the bottom to the top of the front panel is definitely what will ensure that your eyes are served with the utmost detail upon every corner of the display.
The Corning Gorilla Glass further ensures that the display looks aesthetically pleasing and is robust against heavy impacts.
With what’s in store in the Mi 8 SE’s cameras department, you’d probably agree with the caption as well. The smartphone features a 12 + 5 MP dual primary sensor with an LED flash, dual-pixel phase detection autofocus and customary camera features from geo-tagging to HDR.
The selfie sensor is on par with the Mi 8 Explorer’s selfie camera as you also get a 20 MP power-punch over here as well. Both the camera sensors are equipped with loads of power and megapixels that’ll ensure that your photos and videos are captured in high resolutions. So? Do you agree with the aforementioned caption?
The hardware department of the Mi 8 SE has it all; from a 2.2 GHz octa-core Kryo 360 processor to 64 gigs of RAM, the Mi 8 SE is filled with everything you’d want to see from a powerful smartphone. The smartphone’s RAM is either 4 or 6 gigs but you simply don’t need to worry as both are powerfully poised to finely run the built-in Android Oreo.
Other tasty features atop the smartphone include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB type-C, Quick Charge 3.0 and a 3120 mAh non-removable battery which should easily be able to provide a day’s worth of usage depending on usage frequency that is. Last but not the least, the smartphone is marketed in Grey, Blue, Red and Gold colours.
