Phablets. Who doesn’t know about them? These giant sized devices are known for their humongous displays and Xiaomi’s Max series mostly comprises of these babies. We’ll be magnifying on the Mi Max 2 for now that’ll mark its appearance somewhere around June 2017 with an expected launch price-tag of 30-35,000 rupees.
The Mi Max 2 succeeds last year’s Mi Max with many notable differences between the two. The Mi Max 2 features an all metal build with three capacitive buttons atop its front bottom bezel. Its smooth exterior feels as good as polished steel while its 7.6mm width is excellent to say the least. Its weight falls in a different category altogether as 211g is just too much. That maybe can attributed to its huge 5300 mAh battery.
That’s because it features a huge 6.44 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 342ppi pixel density. Equating to a whopping 1080p resolution and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, you can simply fix it on a wall and enjoy it like a home theatre.
The smartphone houses a 12 megapixel primary sensor with the all-important phase detection autofocus that ensures it snaps excellent results. Other than that, customary camera features such as a dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, panorama etc. follow suit.
Its selfie sensor is pretty small at 5 megapixels. Considering the display size, you’ll easily be able to spot its deficiencies. The smartphone definitely should’ve had a bigger sensor here.
A large smartphone requires heavy power to run efficiently. That is ensured through the provision of an octa-core processor and 4 gigs of RAM in the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 that’s more than enough to run the built-in Android Nougat.
Its two variants include 64 and 128 GB internal storage while fast charging, a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, gold colour scheme and a gigantic 5300 mAh battery being synonymous to both variants.
