Xiaomi introduced itself into the smartphone world with 3 excellent releases. Among them is the low-costing, mind-boggling and specs-rolling Redmi 4A which struck the market shelves on 25th February 2017 with a launching price-tag close to 13,900 rupees.
Like all other major smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi designs its smartphones in a way that’s typically Xiaomi. Speaking of a that, we’re talking sleek metal unibody designs with three capacitive buttons on the front bottom bezel and those speaker grills at the metallic back panel. Width wise, we’re not that pleased as 8.5mm is obese considering there’s absolutely no dust/waterproofing here while the 131.5g weight is something that gives us immense reason to be happy about. Maybe its obesity can be correlated to the smartphone housing a large battery.
The smartphone features a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 294ppi pixel density. Allowing a 720p resolution, we simply cannot complain about it not being 1080p as remember you’re getting all this in less than 14,000 rupees and we don’t really see many smartphones within this price with resolutions close to 720p.
Looks wise, the Redmi 4A’s 13 megapixel primary sensor has its fair share of similarities with the iPhone 6s’s sensor. However, prowess wise, the former 13 megapixel sensor isn’t too far off the latter and customary camera features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama add more accuracy to the Redmi 4A’s snapping abilities.
Its selfie camera stands at the more adequate side of things as it features a 5 megapixel sensor. We’re happy with what we’ve got here folks!
That’s been made possible due to the fact that the Redmi 4A is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 processor with 2GB of RAM. While not being totally lag-free, this baby is as close to losing lag as you can get in a price like this. Its internal storage stands at 16 gigs with an external card-slot option available as always.
Surprisingly, considering what a goodie-bag the Redmi 4A has been, there’s no fingerprint scanner or fast charging in the smartphone while you do get dual-SIM capability as well as a large 3120 mAh non-removable battery with plenty of juice behind its back.
