Following a well-known naming scheme used by majority smartphone manufacturers, Xiaomi’s launched a more powerful version of the Redmi Note 5A known as the Redmi Note 5A Prime. Both the smartphones are expected to reach our shores with an expected launch date of 30th September 2017 with the Redmi Note 5A Prime commanding a launch-price of 22,000 rupees.
Features a simplistic, Xiaomi-like design
Design wise, the smartphone features a pretty known quantity but when it comes to its all metal build, we’ve to say that its build materials are very well polished. A 7.7mm width and 153g weight highlight some nice details about its exterior.
When it comes to its display, we’ve observed a 5.5 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 401ppi pixel density. Its resolution is subject to debate with people claiming it to be either 720p or 1080p. However, our personal experience suggests that a 401ppi pixel density is enough to allow a 1080p HD resolution atop a 5.5 inches display.
Improved hardware but similar cameras to the Redmi Note 5A
The Note 5A Prime features a similar 13 megapixel primary sensor with phase detection autofocus to the Note 5A while the selfie sensor stands at 5 megapixels.
Internals wise, an octa-core processor with either 3GB RAM plus 32GB internal storage or 4GB RAM plus 64GB internal storage aids the built-in Android Nougat while a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3080 mAh battery and three colour schemes rounding-off the smartphone’s modern prowess.
