Xiaomi’s one of those names that no longer need any introduction. The Chines manufacturer has established a foothold in the wider world due to its immaculate low-cost releases and Pakistan is going absolutely crazy because of this. The Redmi S2 is another one its promising sons with the smartphone costing around Rs. 30,000.

Looks familiar doesn’t it?

The Redmi S2 looks a lot like the Mi A2 but not as premium as the latter. The smartphone definitely packs a punch because of what’s underneath its hood with an aluminum body nicely providing cover to it. An 8.1mm width and 170g weight are further details about its exterior.

The front panel of the smartphone features an 18:9 aspect ratio display. Statistically, the smartphone features a 5.99 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 269ppi pixel density. The aforementioned pixel density allows for a 720p resolution which might not be what you were hoping for but it’s still good nevertheless.

Cameras, hardware, Bravo!

The cameras department of the Redmi S2 features a dual 12 + 5 MP primary sensor with EIS gyro and phase detection autofocus that further adds to its strengths. The selfie camera features muscle of its own with a 16 MP sensor with an LED flash of its own. Take a bow their Redmi S2!

The smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor with variant dependent RAM and internal storage as follows:

4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage
3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage

Other exciting features atop the Redmi S2 include a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, 3080 mAh non-removable battery and an expandable card-slot up to 256 gigs in case you ever were to run out on storage space. The battery will do well to provide good usage time while the smartphone comes in three colour schemes namely Gold, Rose Gold and Silver that all look pretty well atop the Redmi S2’s exterior.
