As every other manufacturer these days, Xiaomi released more than one phone in their new Redmi Y series, the Redmi Y1 Lite. Being the very budget friendly phone of the already really budget friendly series, the Redmi Y1 Lite will cost you roughly Rs. 11,000, The Redmi Y1 shapes up to be a great alternative to the sea of QMobiles at this price point.
Build, Display and Camera
No metal uniobdy here as the Redmi Y1 Lite is made of plastic and weighs in at a light 150g. The Redmi Y1 Lite has a 5.5-inch 720p IPS LCD display which is why this feels like a big phone. The pixel density of the phone sums up to 267ppi, just like the Redmi Y1.
The back of the phone is where the 13MP main camera is. To our surprise, it packs phase detection auto focus and an LED flash, features that are not so common at such low prices! Even 1080p video recording is on deck! The front of the phone has a 5MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Hardware
Again, surprisingly, the Redmi Y1 Lite is packing something uncommon in its competitors: The Snapdragon 435 processor. This gives the Redmi Y1 Lite enough juice to blaze through your daily tasks. Cutting corners somewhere yet still being generous, the Redmi Y1 Lite has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, which can be upgraded to 256GB with a microSD card. Finally, the battery on the Redmi Y1 Lite will keep you running through 2 days with ease thanks to its 3080mAh capacity.
