Blackberry has been rolling over to the Android and touchscreen smartphone’s party for a while now. We’re very happy to see the company make a transition towards Android devices as they’ve catered the only loophole that existed in their devices through that (cough, cough boredom) and to give this program a push further, the BlackBerry DTEK60 makes its way atop the podium.
Build quality and display
The DTEK60 carries all the hallmarks of a BlackBerry device with its premium looks and excellent specifications. The design is simple, complimented by its nicely crafted build materials which encapsulate sheer power and finesse underneath and above the smartphone’s hood. Amazingly, the device features a 7mm width which is a testament to BlackBerry’s commitment to craftsmanship while the 165g weight seems a little more than it should be.
The smartphone features one of the best displays BlackBerry has to offer to date. With a 5.5 inches AMOLED capacitive touchscreen and 534ppi pixel density, the DTEK60 offers 1440p HD resolution that upon combining with the display offers an excellent user experience.
Cameras
The DTEK60 is not only about its display; it’s much more than that. The smartphone features two superb cameras at its front and back with a knack of producing some excellent results. The primary camera features a powerful 21 megapixel sensor with phase detection autofocus and a dual-tone LED flash while the selfie camera features an 8 megapixel sensor. Muscle on both ends there ladies and gentlemen.
Hardware and software
Finally moving on from the BlackBerry OS, the company has now made Android its own. A Quad-Core processor with 4GB of RAM powers the DTEK60’s built-in Android Marshmallow which is more than enough the software requires while its internal storage banks at 32 gigs with an expandable memory card slot.
Its Fast Charge technology, Quick Charge 3.0 claims to produce 83% charging within 30 minutes which is staggering to say the least while USB type-C and a fingerprint scanner at its back panel ensure that the smartphone carries all the traits of a modern device. A combative 3000 mAh battery lies underneath the non-removable back while the smartphone only comes in black color.
