HTC are known more for their beautiful designs rather than other features of their devices. The Ones, their flagship series, get better and better looking with each coming edition. The first One M7 was quite a looker itself, but since then two years have gone by and the One M9 makes its predecessors proud. Not only that but the phone has received boosts all around and is definitely a contender to be one of the most sought after phones.
The M9 is an aluminum unibody that looks a lot like its predecessors and it looks and feels great. The phone has a 5” Super LCD3 screen with Full HD (1080 x 1920 pixels) display. The display is sharp and crisp thanks to the high pixel density of 441 ppi. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It comes with the HTC Sense UI 7.0 which is an upgrade to the 6.0 found in the M8. The phone comes with a single Nano-SIM card port.
In terms of performance, the One M9 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset that is equipped with quad-core Cortex-A53 and quad-core Cortex-A57 processors coupled with 3 gigs of RAM. The phone comes with 32 GB of internal memory with an option to expand that up to 200 GB via a microSD slot. The phone comes with Android v5.1 Lollipop and will be upgradable to Marshmallow in the near future, according to HTC.
The phone is equipped with a 20 megapixels sensor that is huge compared to the dual Ultrapixel cameras found on its predecessor. Like the M8, however, it comes with dual LED flash on the back. The front camera is now an Ultrapixel camera that can capture very bright pictures in all conditions. In terms of video recording, the M9 is now able to record videos 4K video at 30 frames per second.
The battery has received an upgrade as well. It may be a slight increase in amperage but with Quick Charge 2.0, the phone is set to last around a day’s use with ease and you’ll find yourself going into the next day quite often.
