Highlights

Huawei’s story as a growing force in the world of smartphones is nothing short of an inspiration for other startups. Founded by a soldier of the Chinese Army, it has now blossomed into one of the world’s biggest franchises. Although, initially only a telecommunication equipment manufacturer, Huawei began its expansion into the smartphone sector with a bang.

In our opinion, Huawei has done THE most splendid job when it comes to providing excellent smartphones in the best of prices. The company has developed a habit of producing high quality smartphones that are much better compared to most other smartphones in the very same price range. The Huawei Honor 5X is another superb example of a mid-range smartphone that has the muscle to knock out most other competitors in the very same price bracket.

On our first interaction with the Honor 5X, we found this bad boy to be a hell of a smartphone. It has extremely good specifications that simply cannot be bettered by the Sonys’ and the Samsungs’ in this price. The phone comes in with two variants that are only separated by their RAM. One of the variants features a Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 & Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 with 2GB of RAM whereas the second comes in with the same processor but with a bumped up 3GB RAM. Whichever you buy, you’re going to get incredible performance.

Its build quality and dimensions are noteworthy. A full metal body with a 5.5 inches 401 ppi pixel density IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen on top of it speaks volumes in itself. The primary and secondary cameras come in with 13 and 5 megapixels respectively. Huawei has a built a strong reputation for high quality cameras and the Honor 5X shows no signs of tarnishing that.

Other than these, the Honor 5X also comes in with a fingerprint sensor, expandable storage and three different colors that go very well with its metallic build.

To sum up, the Huawei Honor 5X is brilliantly good. Just look at its price and what it offers in return. It is value for money from head to toe and will do an excellent job in keeping you happy as long you wish to keep it especially as the Android Marshmallow update for it is soon to follow.
