Infinix is showing the world what bang for buck actually means. We’re pleased to see this newly-born Chinese manufacturer selling its smartphones in our country as Infinix brings quite some staggering features for the masses to enjoy. In return, the company is receiving a tremendous response from the public which has prompted the company to keep going and going; enter Infinix Hot4.
Body and Display
The Infinix Hot 4 is the latest increment to Infinix’s Hot series. Generally, all of Infinix’s products target the lower range and the Hot 4 is no different. With regards to its build quality, the back features a plastic built with a slightly textured finish which can easily be misinterpreted as being metal (or is it?). The front features customary Infinix design with the three capacitive buttons taking refuge beneath the touchscreen.
Speaking of touchscreen, it’s a 5.5 inch IPS LCD capacitive display with 320ppi pixel density. 320ppi is a respectable amount and guarantees 720p resolution. Other than that, it supports the ability to recognize input from 5 different fingers at once.
Camera
We’ve talked about how Infinix claims to be doing something different with its primary cameras. While Huawei has started making use of the Leica optics, Infinix says that it uses 5-element lens technology which ensures perfect angles and little distortion. The Hot 4’s primary camera features an 8 megapixel sensor with all customary features such as touch focus, face detection etc. Its selfie camera also features a respectable 5 megapixel sensor but we’re not sure as to how will it patch things up with the gigantic 5.5 inch display.
Software and Hardware
Infinix has never been greedy when it comes to stuffing its devices with sheer power. The Hot 4 will come in with a 1.3GHz Quad-Core processor with an additional 2GB of RAM. Both of these working in tandem will provide a smooth user experience with the built-in Android Marshmallow but the occasional lag might just creep in.
The smartphone comes in with 16GB internal storage but also an external memory card slot and to end this review on a positive note, its 4000 mAh battery is said to promise a 2-day battery life albeit subject to the frequency of use.
