It seems as if Samsung has finally heard our cry about them not manufacturing good-enough smartphones in the budget smartphones category as the A3 2017 definitely shatters our concerns regarding the company’s previously weak prowess in that category. We’re delighted to see the features the smartphone has in store and for the price you’ll get it, we hope you’ll feel the same.
Build quality and display
The A3 2017 is a slightly downgraded version of the more powerful A5 2017 but it features 100% similar build quality and design; the smartphone yet again echoes a little bit Galaxy S7 in it with glass panels at the front and back while its dimensions fully complement its exterior with a 7.9mm width. Underneath this width lies IP68 certified dust and waterproofing which means that waterproofing is no longer limited to flagships or expensive devices.
Its display features a 4.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 312ppi pixel density. This translates to a 720p resolution that is quite satisfying on the display leading to an overall satisfying graphical experience while Corning Gorilla Glass provides sturdy protection to it.
Cameras
Unlike most other budget Samsung smartphones, this device features two massively powerful camera sensors; the primary camera features an effortless 13 megapixel sensor with features that include geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and an LED flash. The secondary camera features a large 8 megapixel camera which we’re particularly happy to see as Samsung is pretty greedy when it comes to selfie cameras. Maybe, that greed has finally met its maker.
Hardware and software
Power aplenty atop the A3 2017’s top as the smartphone is powered by a 1.6 GHz Octa-Core Cortex-A53 processor with an additional 2GB of RAM. Finely poised to run the built-in Android Marshmallow with speed and it’ll rarely give you a reason to clatter it against the wall.
Its internal storage stands at 16 gigs with an external memory card slot also present. Bar Fast Charge, you get to make use of the front-mounted fingerprint scanner, a normal sized 2350 mAh battery plus 4 different color schemes that include Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud.
