With the advent of 2017, things are shaking-up quite nicely for Samsung as the company has embarked on releasing its 2017 A series. The 2016 A series duly made its way into the hearts of many a people, particularly the A7 2016, and its successor will have to be something big to make a similar impact. Is the A7 2017 exactly that?
Build quality and display
The 2017 A series is designed in quite a similar fashion to the Galaxy S7 which is excellent news. One can find many similarities between the two particularly the primary camera lens which is situated flat on the glass back panel without any sort of platform. Its dimensions are pretty neat as well with a 7.9mm width and oh wait! We almost forgot to mention that the smartphone features IP68 certified dust and waterproofing as well. Thumbs-up there!
Speaking of its display, the smartphone features a 5.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 386ppi pixel density. Translating into a hefty 1080p HD resolution, the display provides adequate graphics on each and every corner of the large display without any sort of doubt whatsoever.
Cameras
The A7 2017 takes the camera game to the next level by featuring two equally powerful and gigantic camera sensors; the primary camera features a huge 16 megapixel primary sensor with OIS and customary features such as geo-tagging, touch-focus, face detection, panorama, HDR and an LED flash. The secondary camera is equally as good as the primary one with a 16 megapixel sensor of its own leading to an overall excellent photo and videography.
Hardware and software
The A7 2017 is powered by a 1.9 GHz Octa-Core Cortex-A53 processor with an additional 3GB of RAM. Sufficiently poised to run the built-in Android Marshmallow but hey! It should’ve come out of the box with Nougat. Despite that, performance will be seamless and lag won’t bother you at all. A front-mounted fingerprint scanner, USB-type C, Fast charging and a large 3600 mAh battery are its other notable mentions while the smartphone is marketed in Black Sky, Gold Sand, Blue Mist and Peach Cloud color schemes.
