If you’re a Samsung lover and are very low on budget, we’d recommend that you look at the Galaxy J3 2016. It’s designed for the masses who cannot afford to splash the cash but hold a dream to own an excellent smartphone. We won’t say that the J3 is jaw dropping, particularly as Huawei and Lenovo are producing much better smartphones within the same price bracket but if your loyalty to Samsung is unquestionable, the J3 2016 should be your pick.
Body and Display
Since the Galaxy J3 is designed to target the lower-end of the market, it is foolish to expect a glass finish from it which it duly obliges. The front features a 100% Samsung look whereas the back is made up entirely out of plastic which can be removed to access the removable 2600mAh battery. This definitely is a plus as smartphones make good use of batteries and the J3 2016 allows you to replace a worn out battery with a new one.
The display features does a little better than an average budget smartphone which includes a 5.0 inches Super AMOLED touchscreen with a 294ppi pixel density. The Super AMOLED and 294ppi are two heavy duty aspects of the J3 2016’s display and the 720p resolution is also music to our ears.
Camera
The cameras come in with a satisfactory weight on the Galaxy J3 2016. The primary camera houses an 8 megapixel sensor with an f/2.2 aperture lens and an LED flash that has the ability to produce beautiful photography whereas the front camera brags off a 5 megapixel sensor that is finely suited to produce high quality shots that go well on the 5.0 inches display.
Hardware and Software
A Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A7 processor and 1.5GB of RAM highlight its main hardware specifications with additional 8 or 16 gigs of internal storage depending on its two variants. The external card slot does allow you to beef up the storage capacity but we’d recommend using a smaller SD card as the processor and RAM look inadequate to smoothly cater for the hectic demands of the built-in Android v5.1.1 Lollipop.
