Samsung seems like it has gotten into an arms race with the rest of the smartphone world. 2016 has seen numerous new devices from the Korean company and it seems well on its way to breaking their personal best of smartphones released in a financial year. Among these hot prospects is the upcoming Galaxy A8 2016. Let’s get into a little more detail shall we?
The A series is known more for its immaculate targeting of the mid to upper-mid range of smartphones. 2015 saw the most sleekest A series devices and 2016 is seeing not only a change in their build quality but also them being stuffed with much more powerful specifications. Details below the jump.
What is the Galaxy A8 2016?
We’ve already talked about how good and amazing the A7 2016 is in many of our articles prior to this one and we’ll further build upon that to talk about the A8 2016 in a good light.
The A8 2016 features a sturdy and powerful build with a front glass panel plus an all-round metal unibody design. This is a change from what we’ve seen in previous A models with a slim and shiny aluminum frame and we can assure you that the new build is excellent (Samsung has also made use of similar build design in the Galaxy C5 and C7). It was earlier rumored that the A8 2016 would feature an all glass build like most of the A series models have received in 2016 but we’re happy to see something different in this upcoming release.
We’re very pleased with its 7.2mm width while the 182g weight may seem a tad overweight on paper. In reality, it’s well distributed on the device making the smartphone seem lighter than the stats suggest.
Its display features a 5.7 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 386ppi pixel density. This translates into a 1080p HD resolution which makes excellent friends with the large display meaning that you’ve found something like an on-the-go home theater in the A8 2016.
The smartphone’s cameras are one of its strongest points as has always been the case with Samsung devices. The primary camera features a 16 megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture sized lens and an LED flash. We’re surprised not to see anything like phase detection autofocus or OIS in the primary sensor but the large megapixels don’t really give us any reason to doubt the camera’s prowess.
Its selfie sensor is also finely poised to provide you with the best of services as it features a large 8 megapixel sensor. Chill, they’ve got this!
Enough about what is on the A8 2016’s surface. We’ll now be moving onto what is underneath the hood and we’ve got some excellent news; the smartphone is powered by an Octa-Core processor with an additive 3GB of RAM. This roughly means you don’t have to worry about the smartphone picking up a fight with the built-in Android Marshmallow.
The smartphone features 32 or 64GB of internal storage depending on the variant you choose to buy. Fingerprint sensor embedded into the home key keeps the A8 2016 up to speed with the rest of the smartphone world while we’re disappointed not to see Fast Charge technology in the smartphone. 4 beautiful color schemes and a large non-removable 3300 mAh battery round off what the latest Galaxy A series release is all about.
What is the expected price of the A8 2016 in Pakistan?
The Galaxy A8 2016 is rumored to begin selling at $580 which equates to around 60,000 rupees in our country. If this does indeed turn out to be the case then there are a number of other smartphones with much better specifications and lower prices compared to the A8 2016. Expected launch date of the A8 2016 in Pakistan
While Samsung officially sells its products in our country, we’ve not yet heard about the Korean giants posting a definitive date as to when the A8 2016 will officially hit the shelves in Pakistan. Since the smartphone also hasn’t received an “international release” yet, we can’t really predict when the smartphone will be available within our shores. A wild guess will be anything between 1 to 2 months.
That’s all we’ve got about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A8 2016. We were very impressed by the smartphone up until the point we got to know about its expected/rumored price in our country which is definitely over the top for a smartphone of this caliber.
