Earlier released as the Honor V9 Play in China, Huawei has unveiled the Honor 6C Pro for the rest of the world. Being a lower mid-range device, the Honor 6C Pro will set you back roughly Rs. 20,000.
Lots of Chinese companies these days’ love to rip designs-off of high end phones like the Galaxy S8 and the iPhones. Similarly, the Honor 6C Pro design-wise looks pretty much like the older iPhone 6 with rounded corners and a two lines on the back of the phone: one on the top and the other on the bottom. The phone is encased in a metal unibody, a nice little touch manufacturers provide for budget phones these days.
Thankfully, it’s not a complete copy like some OPPO phones since the camera placement is in the middle and not in the top left corner. Right below the camera we have our fingerprint scanner, a pretty ideal position to place one.
On the front we have our 5.2-inch screen but no 1080p resolution. We’re stuck with 720p, but at this price point we really can’t expect much. There are big bezels on this phone, the bottom one occupied by the Huawei logo while the top one is where the earpiece and front facing camera are found.
The phone weighs in at 145g and is surprisingly thin, measuring at 7.6mm which is not common with phones at this level of the phone hierarchy.
The main camera module on the Honor 6C Pro is a standard 13MP one. It’s got an f/2.2 aperture with phase-detection auto focus and an LED flash. Details will be plenty and color representation is average compared to higher quality phones, but good enough for you to upload your pics to your social networking sites.
Video recording caps out at 1080p at 30 frames per second. Now you can capture all your shenanigans in Full HD. The front camera is an 8MP one, something frequent selfie takers will appreciate. The front camera has an f/2.2 aperture as well so capturing angles will be the same as the front camera.
The Honor 6C Pro is packing a low end Mediatek MT6750, which comprises of 8 cores running in the big.LITTLE architecture. That means 4 cores run at 1.5GHz while the other 4 run at 1GHz. The higher clock speed will operate on more power demanding tasks while the lower ones will run elsewise. This allows for efficient use of power and battery, giving the user optimal experience.
Besides the processor, the Honor 6C Pro is equipped with 3GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs. 32GB of internal memory is available. If that’s not enough, you can always opt to expand that by up to 256 extra gigabytes with the help of a microSD card.
Keeping the whole thing alive is a 3000mAh battery which should allow for 1.5 days of use on full charge, provided you’re a light user and not a heavy one.
